Dr. John Hart, MD, takes time to ensure that your treatment plan is the most effective method of managing your illness. He also sets your plan to work with your lifestyle and your schedule. From evaluation to prescribing medications, our main goal is finding the perfect remedy for you. Dr. Hart is the third of five kids in a career Naval aviator family. He moved almost every year through high school. His last tour of duty was in Virginia and attended Virginia Tech getting BS in aerospace engineering and their first MS degree awarded in Systems Engineering. Dr. Hart decided he was better suited to applied sciences and problem-solving. From there he moved to the University of Virginia School of Medicine and did his residency in OB-GYN where he is also board certified. While working and living in the Middle East, he became ill and returned to improve his health. This lead him to learn more about chronic illness and was trained in Functional Medicine. In 2002, he started Functional Medicine for Families & Gynecology practice with offices in Ashburn and Fredericksburg, Virginia. Over the years, Dr. Hart has had post graduate training through several organizations like Institute of Functional Medicine, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, American College of Integrative Medicine, International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society, Academy of Comprehensive Integrative Medicine, American Academy of Environmental Medicine, American College for Advancement in Medicine among others. He is married with four children and two grandchildren. He has a pilotâs license but is not actively flying now. He is on the worship team at his church playing bass guitar and guitar. Dr. Hart also has an awesome cat, Tiger.
